Church Greening Group
This is a small group based within the church who meet on a bimonthly basis to discuss issues surrounding the environment and Fairtrade.

We recognise God as the creator and creation as a gift from him to be enjoyed and also looked after.
We see our care and concern for creation as a way of expressing our love for its Creator and
also as a way of showing our love for our neighbour, being increasingly aware that how we
live has implications for other human beings in different parts of God’s world.
As such we have three main aims:
1. To promote & encourage creation care as an important part of our lives as disciples of Jesus.
This works out in part by providing material for use in the house groups & also through involvement in Sunday services.
2. Moving the church forward with environmental and Fairtrade issues.
This includes:
-developing our recycling scheme
-increasing our use of Fairtrade products
-marking the annual Fairtrade fortnight
-increasing our use of environmentally
friendly products
3. Develop our contact with other churches and community groups by working together on appropriate projects
For example, the Grantham river-care group. (www.rivercare.org.uk/featured_group.asp)

We also have links with the Christian conservation charity A Rocha and through this we are working through the Eco-congregation scheme. This offers the chance for a thorough audit of many aspects of our church life.
Finally, there is a small church garden that the group has oversight for.
