VISION & BELIEFS
A Unified Community Who: Proclaims Jesus, Raises Disciples, Equips The Saints, Sends All Into The World.
OUR VISION
-
We want to be a people who obey the commands of Jesus. One of his commands is to ‘go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.’ Romans 10 says people will not believe unless someone speaks, and no one will speak unless they are sent. We realise that Jesus is sending us into the world to proclaim Him. We do recognise that this will look different for each person, according to the gifting and anointing He has given us.
-
The second part of the ‘Great Commission’ mentioned above is to teach others to obey everything he taught us. As part of a community of believers it is important, we recognise that we are all on a journey of figuring out what it means to follow Jesus. We can learn from each on this journey. As we go through life its important, we have willingness to learn from each other and bring our wisdom to the table. All for the purpose of drawing ourselves and others closer to Jesus.
-
Ephesians 4 mentions different gifts that Christ gives the church – the apostle, prophet, evangelist, shepherd, and teacher. It is our belief that each of us an element of all these gifts, even if we have a primary gift. As a church we make space for all gifts acknowledge these were given to equip the saints and bring us to the fullness of Christ. We need these gifts and their equipping until we reach this point.
-
We long to be a church who sees each and every person sent into the mission field the Lord has for them. Whether this is local, regional, national or international. We long to be a church who releases and sends. In John 20 Jesus says to His disciples ‘As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you.’ It is our responsibility to send out, further and beyond the town we are placed in.
